Member companies and business associations shape the ICC stance on business issues by assigning experts to participate in the work of ICC commissions and special groups. The commissions scrutinize international and national government initiatives affecting world business and draw up comments and recommendations.

After approval by the ICC Executive Board and World Council, these policy statements are submitted to national governments and international organizations through ICC national committees and the International Secretariat.
